Installing Nautilus IV on Windows XP or Vista

1) Download the installer from the download area. Make sure your download completes. If you run an installer that was not downloaded completely you will get an error message "Invalid 32 Bit Application" or "Corrupted archive". If that is the case re-download the installer.

2) Save the installer on to your machine before running the installation, do not run installer directly from the website.

3) Double click the installer icon and follow the on screen instructions.

Un-installing Nautilus IV from Windows XP or Vista

The installer package we have at the moment is not capable of removing the software cleanly from your machine. This is due to the problem with "Advance Installer (TM)" and until they fix it there is nothing we can do, but there is a work around.

If you want to completely un-install the software there are four steps you need to do.

1) Start / Settings / Control panel / Add remove programs ("Programs and Features" on Vista). Find and remove PostgerSQL 8.2 (or 8.3 in newer versions) ([Turn off user account control] on Vista is required for this step)

2) Browse to C:\Nautilus\utils\ folder on your hard drive using "My Computer" icon or Windows Explorer. Double click and run remove-postgres-user.bat file this will run the following command:

net user /delete postgres

thus deleting the database user account from your machine.

3) Start / Setting / Control panel / Add remove programs ("Programs and Features" on Vista) Find and remove Nautilus from your computer

4) Delete the folder C:\Nautilus

This will completely remove the software from your machine including all the data
