Software - Re-Install
RE-installing Nautilus (Version
IV)
If you need to completely
reinstall the software:
What is installed?
1) The third party database
PostgreSQL is a powerful, open source relational database system. It
has more than 15 years of active development and a strong
architecture that has earned it a strong reputation for reliability,
data integrity, and correctness.
2) Nautilus truck driver
software.
Nautilus stores all its data in
PostgreSQL database.
If all you are doing is reinstalling
Nautilus of the same major version all you have to do is remove it by using Control panel / Add
Remove programs (Programs and Features on Vista) and then run the
installer again.
If you are reinstalling everything
completely you first need to remove everything completely (see below)
then run the installer as usual.
Removing software completely
1) Start / Control panel / Add remove
software (Programs and features on Vista)
2) Find and Un-install PostgreSQL 8.2 (8.3)
3) Browse to C:\Nautilus\util\ and
double click file called "remove-database-user.bat" this
will kill the database user.
You can also remove database user by typing: net user /delete postgres on command prompt; see [this article] for more details
4) Start / Control panel / Add remove
software (Programs and features on Vista)
5) Find and un-install Nautilus
6) Delete C:\Nautilus directory
This will wipe out the program and all
trip data.
Paying customers:
If you still using version I, II or III
and you nave never updated to IV, installing IV on top of an old
database will not work. To get up to version IV you need to run an update from withing the software (Tools / Update Software).
Demo users:
If you are still using demo version III or less installing IV on top of it will not work. Remove version III completely including database (see intructions above). Then install version IV. However this will delete all your existing trip data. If you want to keep your data call our support. We charge non customers an upfront fee of $75 for data migration.
