Trip Sheet - Stops
Trip sheet - Stops - screen 2 of 4
The stops screen combines the address
book and the stop schedule. This is not a required screen. Here is how it works:

Adding a new customer and new stop:
In the darker blue area you can enter a
customer (if the customer is not present in the "Customer Name"
drop down on the left light blue area). You can enter as much or as
little information about the customer as you want. The Customer name
field is required, the rest if up to you.
If you enter correct and complete
address the "Google map" button will take you to the Google map
of the location and you can use the areal photo view to scout parking.
But the Google map feature obviously woks only when you are connected
to the Internet (Wi-Fi at a truck stop, Air Card, Idle Air Etc)
TIP:
If you are delivering to a franchised
places such as Wal Mart DC, Sysco foods, Home depot etc, it is a good
idea to record the customer name in the following format: "Sysco of
Albany NY" or "Wal Mart 5560", The software will not let you
save two customers with the same name.
Appointments
The stop can be flagged for an
appointment. Select the date and time. The time is listed in military
format. So 1 PM is 13:00 and 8PM is 20:00 hours. This way there is no
mistake.
Lumping fee
The loading or unloading is the only
expense that is recorded outside of the expense tab. This way you can
see what stop that cost occurred. In some cases it cost to load the
truck (House hold movers) in many cases it cost to unload it
(Refrigerated freight)
Simply select the stop in the stop
list, enter the loading or unloading charge and hit "Replace"
button. The replace will replace the selected stop with the edit
version that includes your lumping fee on it.
PU, PO, BOL, Commodity, Weight,
Piece count
This fields are optional, but are handy
when you are invoicing your customers (See Invoices), or when you
have a small printer in your truck ($75 will get you a decent one)
and like to print your load sheets before going to talk to warehouse
foreman.
All the information you enter on this
form will be available for [Load
Assignment print] out as well as [Trip
sheet print out]. Google Map This will work if a) your computer is connected to the Internet, b) the address of the customer location is entered properly and complete c) if Google has this street information it its database. The result is a map loaded in to your web browser that looks like this:

This is nicer then any GPS system, because you can actually see the building and access to it before you get there. This mapping feature only works if you have internet connection (Flying J Wi-Fi, AirCard etc) and if you enter the customer's address properly on the stop screen TIP: If the lumping cost is reimbursable use Extra Pay field on the Load Assignment screen to "reimburse" your record. This will balance out the money spent on lumper's fee
